




Executive, Surface Transportation Category Management Center
Bridget Rice has served as the Executive Manager over the Surface Transportation Category Management Center for the United States Postal Service (USPS) since 2013. In her current position she oversees an organization of over 100 Contracting Officers and Purchasing Specialists in multiple offices throughout the United States that are responsible for the strategic sourcing, award, and administration of $4B annually in local & national trucking service.
Bridget has worked in the Supply Chain Management and Logistics industry for 15 years, with previous positions in Air Transportation Purchasing, Fuel Purchasing, and Asset Management.
She has been recognized with multiple awards to include the Supply Chain Management 2016 Distinguished Leadership Award, 2017 EPA Climate Leadership Award for Supply Chain Sustainability and is a multi-recipient of the Supply Management Vice President’s Award.
Bridget has Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing & Logistics from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Masters’ Degree in Acquisition & Supply Chain Management from the University of Maryland, University College.
Since assuming her current position in 2013, Bridget has been passionate about partnering with highway transportation suppliers to convert vehicles to natural gas, electric and other sustainable fuel options. In 2018, she delivered the Key Note Speech at the Compressed Natural Gas Industry Leadership Conference discussing the work that the Postal Service has undertaken to convert highway trucking suppliers over to natural gas fuels. Additionally in 2019, she spearheaded the Postal Service’s first ever autonomous pilot test for highway tractor trailer service.
Bridget currently lives in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She has a passion for traveling and adventure sports. She has shark cage dived in South Africa, swam with humpbacked whales in French Polynesia, cliff jumped in Spain, and has even skydived in the United States. For her next adventure, she plans to head to Thailand to get scuba certified and swim with whale sharks. When she is not traveling, you’ll find her watching Bubble Guppies with her son, Keegan and horseback riding with her daughter, Jenna.
